The 2026 JSO Composition & Instrumental Workshop brings together emerging composers and instrumentalists for an immersive residency at the heart of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra. Across four intensive days, participants move between the rehearsal room and the masterclass studio — refining new works, sitting beside working professionals, and hearing their music read by a full symphonic ensemble.
Faculty composers and conductors guide each participant through individual attention and collective discovery, culminating in a reading session where the orchestra itself gives voice to the music. It is a rare chance to hear a score breathe — in real time, in real acoustic, with real players.
